Township of Hamilton Strengthens Local Planning and Development Services
The Township of Hamilton is undertaking several initiatives to strengthen local planning services and ensure the community remains well-positioned to meet future needs. Over the coming months, residents will see a number of important projects underway, including the assumption of subdivision approval authority, the launch of a comprehensive Official Plan Review, the development of a Growth Management Strategy, and the addition of a new Senior Planner to the Township team.

Notice of Intent to Designate - 2488 Van Luven Road
Take notice that the Council of the Township of Hamilton intends to designate the property described below, as property of cultural heritage value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990. 2488 Van Luven Road is a 1.5-storey stone dwelling constructed of irregular field stone and located on a rural parcel on the southern edge of the village of Baltimore.

Water Supply Master Plan Approved by Council
The Township of Hamilton is pleased to advise that the Water Supply Master Plan (WSMP) has been completed and received by Council on April 21, 2026. The WSMP is a long-term planning document that evaluates the Township’s municipal water systems in Baltimore/Creighton Heights, Camborne, and the Buttersfield subdivision. The study examines current system performance and identifies strategies to meet existing and future water demands over the next 20 years.

Proclamation of Community Foundation of Campbellford/Seymour and Northumberland 25th Anniversary Week

The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is official open as of May 1, 2026.
Individuals interested in running for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, or Councillor are encouraged to review the requirements and begin the nomination process.

Township of Hamilton Receives National Recognition for Financial Reporting Excellence
The Township of Hamilton is pleased to announce that it has received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association for its 2024 Annual Financial Report. This marks the first time the Township has earned this distinguished recognition, which honours excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Residents are invited to participate in the Mayors’ Keep the County Clean Challenge taking place April 19 to 25, 2026, as part of Earth Day activities. Community members can register with the Township to help clean up litter in local neighbourhoods, parks, trails, and roadsides.

Township of Hamilton Receives Provincial Funding to Strengthen Emergency Response
The Township of Hamilton is pleased to announce it has received $16,000 in funding through the Province of Ontario’s Community Emergency Preparedness Grant (CEPG) to enhance local emergency response capabilities.
