Municipal Election

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is coming up on October 26, 2026. Make sure you’re on the voters’ list and ready to vote. Residents are encouraged to check their voter information and register or update their information online by visiting RegisterToVote.ON. If you have recently moved, changed your name, or are new to the Township, take a moment to confirm that your information is accurate. The deadline to register or update your information online is August 12, 2026.

The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is official open as of May 1, 2026.

Individuals interested in running for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, or Councillor are encouraged to review the requirements and begin the nomination process.

Did you know your school support designation determines which trustee election you can participate in for in the upcoming municipal and school board election? School support designations should be reviewed and, if needed, updated by June 1, 2026, to be accurately included on the Preliminary List of Electors for the election on October 26, 2026. Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of Hamilton that nominations for the following offices may be filed in person or by an agent between May 1, 2026 during regular business hours and until August 21, 2026 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Nomination Day).
