The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is coming up on October 26, 2026. Make sure you’re on the voters’ list and ready to vote. Residents are encouraged to check their voter information and register or update their information online by visiting RegisterToVote.ON. If you have recently moved, changed your name, or are new to the Township, take a moment to confirm that your information is accurate. The deadline to register or update your information online is August 12, 2026.
Residents and facility users are advised that construction work will be taking place at the entrance of the Baltimore Recreation Centre beginning this week. The project will include removal of the existing walkway and installation of a new concrete sidewalk to enhance the safety and accessibility for visitors.
Take Notice that the Council of the Township of Hamilton, on July 21, 2026 passed By-law 2026-29 being a by-law to designate the following property under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.18, as a property of cultural heritage value or interest: 2488 Van Luven Road, Township of Hamilton.
Lakelands Public Health has advised that heat and air quality warnings are currently in effect for the Haliburton, Kawartha, Northumberland and Peterborough region. Residents are encouraged to take extra precautions to protect themselves from the combined impacts of high temperatures and wildfire smoke. Residents are welcome to cool off during regular operating hours at Township facilities.
The Township of Hamilton is undertaking several initiatives to strengthen local planning services and ensure the community remains well-positioned to meet future needs. Over the coming months, residents will see a number of important projects underway, including the assumption of subdivision approval authority, the launch of a comprehensive Official Plan Review, the development of a Growth Management Strategy, and the addition of a new Senior Planner to the Township team.
