The Township of Hamilton has announced the candidates who have been acclaimed to office and certified to appear on the ballot for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. The complete list of candidates can be found on our Municipal Elections webpage.

The Township is now accepting resumes from qualified applicants for the position of Water Operator Class II.

Interested applicants should forward a PDF copy of their cover letter and resume (one document preferred) in confidence to hr@hamiltontownship.ca by Friday September 18, 2026.

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is approaching, and the Township of Hamilton is reminding prospective candidates that Friday, August 21, 2026, is Nomination Day. Nomination papers for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillor must be filed with the Municipal Clerk no later than 2:00 p.m. on August 21.

This past Sunday, members of Council and Township staff were pleased to join the Northumberland Land Trust for the grand reopening of the Laurie Lawson Outdoor Education Centre, located at 8000 Telephone Road in the Township of Hamilton.

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is coming up on October 26, 2026. Make sure you’re on the voters’ list and ready to vote. Residents are encouraged to check their voter information and register or update their information online by visiting RegisterToVote.ON. If you have recently moved, changed your name, or are new to the Township, take a moment to confirm that your information is accurate. The deadline to register or update your information online is August 12, 2026.
