The Future of Sackville Bridge - Share Your Feedback
The Township of Hamilton is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) with consultants D.M. Wills Associates Limited to explore options for the future of Sackville Bridge, including replacement, rehabilitation, removal or repurposing.
The assessment has been completed to identify and evaluate alternatives to replace, rehabilitate, remove, or repurpose the Sackville Bridge with respect to natural environments (fish habitat and water features, terrestrial ecosystems, vegetation, wildlife, species at risk), cultural environments (First Nations, heritage, archeological), socio-economic environments (accessibility for local residents during construction, cost, impacts to municipal/emergency services, property impacts), and transportation environments (detour route during construction, roadway safety, traffic operations and consideration for AADT volumes).
Public Information Session
A public information centre was held Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at the Bewdley Community Centre from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. No decision about the future of Sackville Bridge was made at this meeting. The project team will review public input and complete further technical and environmental assessment before a recommendation is made. The timing of next steps will depend on the work required to complete the Environmental Assessment.
