Township Encourages Water Conservation for System Users

As we move into a hot summer, we would like to remind everyone to please restrict your use of municipal drinking water for the essentials.

We encourage you to consider ways to conserve water, including:

  • avoid any irrigation of outside plants during the heat of the day
  • avoid washing cars or driveways
  • avoid use of sprinklers during the heat of the day - or during hot windy days - as you will lose so much to evaporation.

Municipal drinking water is not a limitless supply.  We wanted to communicate with you to let you know we have a Water Usage By-Law, 2004-28.

The reason for being very conservative is to protect our water resources for important uses around the home, to ensure that we maintain a minimum level in storage for Fire Fighting purposes (Creighton Heights), and to help us manage the water systems, particularly during periods of increased use and operational pressures.

Please play a role with protecting and managing this important natural resource!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Water Operations at 905-342-2810, ext 147.
