  • Water Ban Lifted - Effective Friday, August 29, 2025

    We are pleased to advise that effective Friday, August 29, 2025, the Municipal Water Ban will be lifted. Normal water usage under By-Law 2004-28 may now resume.

    Based on significant rainfall, cooler temperatures and more rain in the forecast the County-wide Open Air Burn Ban has been lifted in Northumberland County, effective immediately.

  • Water Ban - Effective August 13, 2025

    Due to ongoing dry conditions, a Water Ban on all outdoor use is being implemented for all Municipal water supply users, effective immediately.

  • Notice of Public Information Centre #2 on September 11, 2025 - Water Supply Master Plan

    The Township of Hamilton is continuing its Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Master Plan to assess current water infrastructure, identify system constraints, and plan future upgrades to support growth over the next 20 years. This study follows the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Class EA Approach 1 Master Planning process. Public Information Centre (PIC) No. 2 presents an update on the study, including the identification and evaluation of servicing alternatives and the preferred solution to address water system capacity constraints, particularly within the Creighton Heights system.

  • Open Air Burn Ban – Effective August 6, 2025

    Due to extremely dry conditions and deteriorating air quality caused by ongoing wildland fires across Ontario and Manitoba, a County-wide Open Air Burn Ban is being implemented in Northumberland County, including the Township of Hamilton, effective immediately.
