Roads Construction Projects

We maintain township roads through the rehabilitation of new building projects. This page will provide you with more information on and current construction projects.

Roads Projects 2025

Bridges

The Township will be completing a study of Sackville Bridge, to identify solutions to improve the current conditions of the bridge. Solutions may include renovation, replacement, reconstruction, or removal.

Road Construction

Crack sealing is occurring throughout the Township during the summer months. Crack sealing is the process of applying an adhesive sealant to small cracks in paved roads to prevent entry of water or substances such as sand, dirt, rocks or weeds.

The process of hot mix paving entails base preparation, earth excavation, and paving of said road. Hot mix paving is a widely used method in road construction due to its ability to withstand heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions.

Road preservation is intended to extend surface life, maintain and improve our existing road network, enhance rideability and increase service life. Surface preservation is a cost-effective solution that helps make roads smoother, safer and more durable while preventing potholes and erosion.

Road reconstruction consists of ditching, roadside vegetation trimming, stabilizing road base, and two layers of surface treatment.

Stormwater Projects

Surface water management works to reduce flooding, erosion, water pollution, and habitat damage caused by stormwater runoff through planning, and maintenance.

Other Projects

The Township will be removing the existing wooden post and steel beam retaining wall and replacing it with an engineered concrete retaining wall.
