Road Construction Projects 2025

Find out what roads are under construction or planned over the next year.

We maintain township roads through the rehabilitation of new building projects. This page will provide you with more information on and current construction projects.

All the work indicated below may cause traffic delays. Please approach any work zone with caution.

Roads Projects

The process of hot mix paving entails base preparation, earth excavation, and paving of said road. Hot mix paving is a widely used method in road construction due to its ability to withstand heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions.

Hot mix paving is scheduled on the following roads:

  • Sidey Drive (from Main Street to Boulton Street)
  • Lime Kiln Trail
  • Allan Road
  • Bill Lang Road

Road preservation is intended to extend surface life, maintain and improve our existing road network, enhance rideability and increase service life. Surface preservation is a cost-effective solution that helps make roads smoother, safer and more durable while preventing potholes and erosion.

Road preservation is scheduled on the following roads:

  • Vimy Ridge Road
  • McClelland Road
  • Danforth Road East (from Jarvis Road to Ron Harnden Road)
  • Rose Road
  • Dejong Road (from Wallace Jibb Road to Honeywell Hill)
  • Mulder Road
  • Hickerson Road (from County Road 45 to Clapperton Road)
  • Taits Beach Road
  • Whitney Howard Road

Road reconstruction consists of ditching, roadside vegetation trimming, stabilizing road base, and two layers of surface treatment.

Road reconstruction is scheduled on the following roads:

  • Fisher Road North
  • Edgar Benson Road
  • Hill 60
  • McAllister Road

Crack sealing is occurring throughout the Township during the summer months. Crack sealing is the process of applying an adhesive sealant to small cracks in paved roads to prevent entry of water or substances such as sand, dirt, rocks or weeds.

Stormwater Projects

Surface water management works to reduce flooding, erosion, water pollution, and habitat damage caused by stormwater runoff through planning, and maintenance.

Surface water management is scheduled on the following roads:

  • Bamsey Drive

Storm water pond inspection and clean out is scheduled on the following roads:

  • Ravine Drive

Bridges

The Township will be completing a study of Sackville Bridge, to identify solutions to improve the current conditions of the bridge. Solutions may include renovation, replacement, reconstruction, or removal.

Other Projects

The Township will be removing the existing wooden post and steel beam retaining wall and replacing it with an engineered concrete retaining wall.
