Lottery License

The Township issues lottery licenses for raffles, 50/50 draws, bingos, and break-open (Nevada) tickets. If you're a registered charity and are looking for a unique way to fundraise, find out more information or register your lottery licence by contacting the Clerk's Department.

Marriage License

The fee for a marriage license is $125.00.

Pool Enclosure Permit

We recommend that applicants review By-law 2019-34 regulating the requirement for enclosures to outdoor swimming pools prior to making an application.

To obtain a permit for a pool enclosure:

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Provide a copy of the plans including:
    • site sketch showing the location of the proposed pool and fence, including dimensions and distance from property lines, septic tank/field, and other buildings
    • pool specifications
  3. Pay the required permit fee of $200.00.

Refreshment Vehicle License

We recommend that applicants review By-law 2015-08 regulating refreshment vehicles prior to making an application.

Requirements for a refreshment vehicle license:

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Provide a copy of the plans including:
    • site sketch showing location of proposed refreshment vehicle including dimensions and distance from property lines, septic tank/field and other buildings
    • description and photographs of the proposed mobile canteen (including equipment)
  3. Refreshment Vehicle Application fees is $125.00. For licensing fees, please refer to fees and charges.

Sign Permit

It is strongly recommended that applicants review By-law 2020-62 regulating signs and advertising devices prior to making an application.

Requirements for a sign permit:

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Provide a copy of the plans including:
    • site sketch showing location of proposed sign including dimensions and distance from property lines, septic tank/field and other buildings
    • sign specifications

Site Alteration Permit

We recommend that applicants review By-law 2012-10 regulating the placing or dumping of fill and alteration of grading prior to making an application.

Requirements for a site alteration permit:

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Provide a copy of the plans including:
    • site sketch/survey showing location of proposed fill area including dimensions and distance from property lines, septic tank/field and other buildings along with a cross-sectional detail
    • material specifications

Apply for a Pool, Sign or Site Alteration permit online!

The Township of Hamilton is pleased to now offer an online system to apply for and track your building permits. Residents and builders may submit applications online using Cloudpermit.

Our Cloudpermit system allows you to apply for and see the status of your application anywhere, at any time. You can start an application and finish it later and receive email updates on the status of your permit application. You can even request inspections!
