Each year, Local Government Week is a chance to celebrate the people, services, and programs that keep the Township of Hamilton running smoothly. From maintaining roads and parks, to managing development, finances, and community safety, your local government plays an important role in shaping daily life.
Local Government Week is about more than services, it’s about transparency, connection, and celebrating the teamwork that makes the Township of Hamilton a great place to live, work, and play.

You can take part in person around the Township and online through our website. Your mission is to find the answers to the questions below and fill in the blanks as you go. Once you’ve completed your sheets, submit them through our online submission form or at the Township Office at 8285 Majestic Hills Drive, for a chance to win some cool swag!

The 2025 Local Government Week Scavenger Hunt is open to all ages. Play on your own, with your family, or with friends.
Be sure to submit your completed sheet by October 24, 2025. Submissions received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Winners will be drawn at random from all correct entries submitted by the deadline.

August 12, 2026 is the deadline to confirm or update your voter information with Elections Ontario. Keeping your information up to date helps ensure you are correctly included on the voters’ list for the upcoming 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. If you’ve recently moved or changed your name, be sure to update your details today.
Updates can be completed online through Elections Ontario by visiting RegisterToVoteON.ca. Changes made after today may not be reflected in the voters’ list.
The last day to file a nomination for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. On this date, nomination forms may only be submitted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The last day for a candidate to withdraw their nomination is by filing a written notice with the Clerk no later than 2:00 p.m.
The Clerk shall examine all filed nomination forms prior to 4:00 p.m. and, if satisfied, certify the nominations. By 4:00 p.m., the Clerk shall also declare any candidate(s) elected by acclamation.
Internet and telephone voting period opens for voting using Voter Information Letters received by eligible electors.
Location: Harwood Fire Station, 5424 Front Street
Election Officials will be on site to assist electors in casting their vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election by internet or telephone. Please bring your Voter Information Letter with you.
