The Ontario Provincial Police provides service to the Township of Hamilton.

We also have By-Law Enforcement Officers who work to uphold community standards by ensuring residents follow all By-laws. By-Law Enforcement is responsible for:

In the Township of Hamilton, winter weather can bring snow and ice that may require preparation. To stay safe and ensure timely snow removal, residents should keep sidewalks and driveways clear of snow and be aware of snow removal schedules in your area. The Township prioritizes snow clearing on main roads, followed by secondary roads and sidewalks.

The Township of Hamilton offers two library branches:

  • Bewdley Public Library (7060 Lake Street, Bewdley)
  • Gore's Landing Public Library (5199 Burnham Street North, Gore's Landing).

Residents also have access to the Cobourg Public Library at 200 Ontario Street, Cobourg.

In the Township of Hamilton, backyard fires are allowed with a valid permit. To ensure safety and compliance with local regulations, residents must apply for a permit before starting a fire. Permits are typically required for open air burning, including fire pits and bonfires.

Please note: daytime burning is not permitted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

All dogs must be registered with the Township of Hamilton with dog tags attached to the collar of each registered dog.

Garbage tags are required for any bag of garbage you place at the curb and help cover the cost of waste disposal.
