Official Plan

Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The Township of Hamilton's Parks and Recreation Facilities Review was completed in 2022 and provides a blueprint for the Townships Parks and Facilities.

Commuter Cycling Plan

The Township of Hamilton Cycling Plan will benefit everyone in the municipality. By working together to create a more bicycle-friendly community, we can provide options for healthy, active living and more ways for people to move so they don’t have to drive. Cycling supports active lifestyles, improves physical and mental health, protects our environment, promotes tourism and recreation, provides travel options for people without a vehicle, and it is fun!

The Commuter Cycling Plan builds upon the Township’s Official Plan and Strategic Plan. Additionally, the plan  integrates the work completed by communities surrounding Hamilton Township including Cobourg, Port Hope and other municipalities within Northumberland County.

Communications Plan
The Township of Hamilton is excited to provide the Communications Plan 2024-2027, aimed at improving communication and engagement within the community. Aligned with the Township’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, the Communications Plan focuses on enhancing accuracy, timeliness and accessibility of information while fostering a stronger connection between residents and local government.

Key priorities of the Plan include:

  • Fostering a well-informed community about Township projects, news, events, and initiatives.
  • Focusing on two-way communications.
  • Promoting a strong sense of community and identity in for the Township.
  • Improving internal communications.

Energy Management Plan

The Township of Hamilton is committed to exploring all potential energy saving projects. The Electricity Act requires that municipalities report on our energy use.

2024 - 2028 Energy Management Plan

 Multi Year Accessibility Plan

In November 2024, the Council of the Township of Hamilton approved the 2024-2029 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. This plan describes the measures that the Township of Hamilton has taken in the past and measures those that the Township will undertake in the coming years to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to people with disabilities who use the facilities and services of the Township, including permanent residents, employees, tourists, and other visitors. The new Multi-Year Plan identifies proposed future initiatives to enhance accessibility in the Township of Hamilton in an effort to make the Township holistically accessible and inclusive.
