Apply for a Zoning Compliance Letter

When a property is listed for sale, it’s common for the buyer’s lawyer to request a Compliance Letter to confirm zoning and check for any outstanding work orders. This letter can be requested by the property owner, their lawyer, or their real estate agent.

Upon request, a Compliance Letter may include:

  • Status of open building permits and/or outstanding work orders
  • Official Plan designation
  • Current zoning and any pending zoning changes
  • Potential for future land severance
  • Heritage significance of the property (if known)
  • Other relevant information not listed above

Please note: Inquiries related to septic systems or plumbing permits should be directed to the County of Northumberland.
