Current Board and Advisory Committee Vacancies
The Township of Hamilton encourages resident involvement through a variety of boards and advisory committees. Boards and advisory committees provide valuable advice and recommendations to Council on specific subjects as defined by board / committee Terms of References.
Board and advisory committee members are appointed by Council at the start of a new term of Council following an election every four (4) years. Member terms of office are four (4) years in length and expire at the end of Council's term.
The Township is currently recruiting volunteers who are interested in becoming citizen members of local boards and advisory committees.

Accessibility Advisory Committee |
The Accessibility Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to increase public awareness of the Accessibility Plan, to identify, remove and prevent barriers for future and continued accessibility. Committee of Adjustment |
The Committee of Adjustment meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. to review and consider applications for severances (consents) and minor variances. |
Community Recognition Awards Advisory Committee |
To provide input and recommendations, and to complete applications or the nominations of individuals or groups of the Township who qualify for awards or recognition through any of the various recognition or awards programs offered locally, provincially, federally or privately through professional associations, non-profits, or private businesses / organizations. Environment and Climate Advisory Committee |
The purpose of the Environment and Climate Advisory Committee is to promote the protection, maintenance and awareness of the natural environment within the township community, and to provide advice concerning environmental and climate change policy, planning, and actions to be undertaken by Township of Hamilton Council and staff concerning climate change and other environmental matters within municipal jurisdiction. Fence Viewers Committee |
The Fence Viewer Committee is established for the arbitration of disputes between adjoining owners about fences on their common property boundary. |
Heritage Advisory Committee |
The Heritage Advisory Committee works to provide and prepare the criteria for the evaluation of properties of architectural/historical value (or cultural heritage); to increase public awareness of heritage conservation; prepare a yearly report of activities and to keep the register of historic properties up to date. The Committee advises and assists Council on all matters relating to buildings and areas of cultural heritage value and in regard to cultural heritage resources. |
Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee |
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will make recommendations to Council on the programming and utilization of the parks and facilities that meet the greater need of the residents of the Township and Community user groups. Police Services Board |
The Police Services Board is a five member board consisting of (2) two Council Members, (1) one Community Representative and (2) two Provincially appointed Representatives. The Board meets monthly and works with the Ontario Provincial Police in setting up policing priorities for the Municipality. |
Property Standards Appeals Committee |
The Property Standards Appeals Committee meets on an as-needed basis to hear appeals involving orders issued against an owner due to the standard or condition of a property. |
