Animal Control
The Shelter of Hope Animal Services facility was constructed in 2003. It is funded jointly by the Township of Hamilton, Town of Cobourg, Municipality of Port Hope, and Township of Alnwick/Haldimand. The Shelter also provides services (dogs only) for the Municipality of Brighton and the Township of Cramahe. It is operated by the Joint Animal Control Board of Management consisting of one member from each of the participating municipalities. One of the main goals of the Shelter is to focus on the adoption of the dogs and cats. We provide care and shelter for dogs and cats with the hope that they find new and loving homes. If you or anyone you know are interested in adopting a pet, contact the Shelter for guidelines on successful integration of a rescued dog into a home. Dogs - $120.00 and Puppies - $80.00
Cats - $75.00 and Kittens - $50.00
Surrender Fees:
Dogs - $75.00 and Cats - $50.00 (must provide proof of current vaccination.)
Volunteers and Fundraising
Volunteers are always needed for fundraising for projects to make the animals more comfortable and also to help in the facility or by walking the dogs, etc.
