WASTE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION
The County of Northumberland has assumed all waste management responsibilities. All requests for information on collection, disposal or other waste-related subjects should be directed to the County Waste and Recycling Hotline at 1-866-293-8379.

The Bewdley Transfer Station is located on County Road 9 between County Road 28 and County Road 18 in the Township of Hamilton.

Bewdley Transfer Station Hours:
HOLIDAY WASTE & RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEDULE 2012/13- see attached.
Summer Hours: (April 1 to November 30)
Monday - Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Winter Hours: (December1 to March 31)
Tuesday -Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hours of operation and disposal rates are subject to change. If changes occur, notices will be posted in the gatehouse at the site(s) and advertisements will be placed in local papers.
Household Hazardous Waste Depot - now at Bewdley Transfer Station. Open on specified dates for the months of April to October only. (Cobourg HHWD, County Works Yard, Veronica Street)
Bulky Waste Voucher Program - Changes
The County's Bulky Waste Voucher Program has been changed. The County will be distributing vouchers to all residential property owners by mail. Vouchers will no longer be available for pickup at Municipal offices.
The Bulky Waste Vouchers will be mailed out in February. For further information on the Bulky Waste Voucher Program, please call the County's Waste Hotline at 1-866-293-8379, or send an e-mail to wastedept@northumberlandcounty.ca
The property owner is to take the voucher to the appropriate County landfill or transfer station at the time that they wish to dispose of the waste. Identification is required at the site and will be verified. If the weight of waste is 100 kg or less, there will be no charge. If the weight is over 100 kg, the property owner will pay for the waste over and above the 100 kg limit. The voucher expires on December 31, 2012.
