Strategic Initiatives - Steering Committees
The Township of Hamilton Strategic Plan was updated December 2011 which identified high priority, focused activities that prescribe the actions required to achieve a specific goal and implement the strategic plan.
Three of the strategic initiatives are outlined as follows:
Communication Goal - Strategic Initiative - to progressively update the Township website to convey information, present a positive image to prospective residents and businesses and to promote transparency to the residents.
A "Website Upgrade Steering Committee" has been established to develop a progressive strategy for the upgrading of the township website as an essential instrument of public communication, transparency, efficiency and good government; to guide and supervise the work of consultants toward the developmetn of that strategy; and to recommend a strategy for Council approval.

Infrastructure Goal - Strategic Initiative - to undertake and implement a Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the township recreation facilities, community halls, sports fields and parklands, in order to ensure long-term sustainability in light of future demographic trends, recreation pursuits and financial realities.
A "Parks and Recreation Facilities Review Steering Committee" has been established to undertake a review of township recreation facilities, community halls, sports fields and parklands in order to ensure that they remain sustainable and continue to meet community needs over the long term, in light of future demographic trends, recreation pursuits, and financial realities; to guide and supervise the work of consultants in undertaking that review; and to make recommendations to Council.

Effective Governance/Administration Goal - Strategic Initiative - undertake and implement a Fire Service Review, in order to ensure effective coordination, organization, recruitment and training of the fire departments.
A "Fire Services Organizational Review Steering Committee" has been established to undertake a Fire Service Organizational Review, in order to ensure effective coordination, organization, recruitment, and training of the fire departments; to guide and supervise the work of consultantzs in undertaking that review; and to make recommendations for Council approval.
